Educational benefits are available to veterans and their family members to help pay for college tuition and find the right school or training program.

Veterans may be eligible for one or more of the following VA education benefit programs:

• Post-9/11 GI Bill
• Montgomery GI Bill-Active Duty (MGIB-AD)
• Montgomery GI Bill-Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR)
• Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP)
• Post-Vietnam Era Educational Assistance Program (VEAP)
• National Call to Service (NCS)
• Survivors鈥� and Dependents鈥� Educational Assistance (DEA)

The Post 9/11 GI Bill庐 offers many benefits to those who are eligible.聽聽provides the following information:

1. Payments are聽
2. A tuition and fee payment that is paid to your school on your behalf
3. A Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) that is equal to:
   • The basic allowance for housing (BAH) payable for the zip code of your school to a military E-5 with dependents for students pursuing resident training
   • One-half the BAH national average for students training solely by distance learning
   • The national average BAH for students pursuing training at foreign schools
4. Note: The MHA benefit is not payable to individuals on active duty or those enrolled at half-time or less.
5. A Books and Supplies Stipend of up to $1,000 per year

The Yellow Ribbon Program provides additional support in those situations and is available to all recipients that are receiving 100% of the Post 9/11 GI Bill庐.

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Post-9/11 GI Bill庐 can cover all in-state tuition and fees at public degree granting schools but may not cover all private degree granting schools and out-of-state tuition.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs suggests the following:

1. Go to聽聽and apply today.
2. Visit your nearest VA regional office to apply in person.
3. Call 1-888-GI BILL-1 (888-442-4551) to have the application mailed to you.

In addition to participating in veteran education programs, such as the Post-9/11 GI Bill庐 and the Yellow Ribbon Program, military-friendly colleges may provide further benefits.

These benefits can include military tuition assistance, career and healthcare resources, military discounts, and fosters a community of support.

Based on Victory Media, publishers of the G.I. Jobs magazine and oversees the Military-Friendly rating, Military-Friendly means:

• Engages the prospective military student or employee in a recruiting environment.
• Educates the military student or employee once they are part of the company or school.
• Employs the military student or employee in meaningful employment.

That鈥檚 why veterans have a dedicated space where they can relax between classes, do homework, or connect with each other. It鈥檚 why our Veteran Center is staffed by two combat veterans.

And it is why we have no cap on our Yellow Ribbon Program, making up for any costs not covered by the Post 9/11 GI Bill庐.

Because we focus on the needs of our student veterans, Military Times ranked 69堂精品 No. 20 on the 2018 鈥淏est for Vets: Colleges鈥� list, rising 10 spots over the previous year.

69堂精品 is the only institution in the Capital Region to be named to the list of 140 four-year U.S. colleges and universities and one of only three schools in New York to make the top 50.

The Post-9/11 GI Bill庐 can provide veterans with a Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) while they go to school.
69堂精品 has a newly renovated Veteran Residence, where you can use your Monthly Housing Allowance, often with money to spare. Live there year-round with other veterans 鈥� and only other veterans.
Additionally, you won鈥檛 have to worry about furniture, cable, internet, or heating costs, or change for the washer and dryer 鈥� it鈥檚 included in the house.

69堂精品 recognizes veterans are people who have different interests. With more than 100 bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees or certificate programs, if your interests are in business, technology, human services, the arts and humanities, or math and science, we鈥檝e got your six.

That said, some of our popular offerings among veterans include: cybersecurity, business analytics, computer science, information technology, criminal justice, psychology, social work, biology, and business administration.

At 69堂精品, we look at the whole person, and your military experience counts. We recognize that people who may have struggled to find their way in high school do a lot of growing up in the military.

Their high school performance, or previous history, isn鈥檛 always an indicator of their true abilities.
Each candidate is given careful consideration. If extra academic support is required, we鈥檙e here to help as needed. Student veterans have been successful in our Academic Opportunity Experience (AOE) program.
